Is Search Engine Optimization a MYTH? It is not that difficult to know. There are many optimized websites on the internet that haven’t spent a dime on website advertising, yet they are visited by thousands. How?
SEO is considered a long term technical job in internet marketing which is directly related to how search engines work.
The first truth you need to know about SEO is that search engines are not humans. Unfortunately search engines are still “text driven” since they are not like humans who are attracted by well-designed websites, graphics and animations. Search engines’ only sense TEXT. They crawl the web and look for specific items, mainly text, to know the content of the site and what it is about.
Google for example has a crawler or spider which follows links from one page to another and indexes everything it finds on pages. And since there is a huge number of pages on the web, it is not easy for spiders to visit a webpage every single day in-order to index modifications done or pages added or removed. It might take a month or two for them to visit the site again. And during this time your SEO efforts might not be rewarded and the only thing you can do about it is wait.
This is one of the reasons why I have mentioned earlier that SEO is a long term technical job.
When it comes to dealing with Search Engines, one has to be extremely patient. An intimate relationship should grow between a website and a search engine. This effort is reached by manipulating Search Engines into sensing exactly what you want them to find on your pages. Search Engines, through this harmony will directly put your site on top of the rankings.
Sounds easy and the cost for a website to reach top ranking is basically zero!

The above mentioned is somehow true as well but only if you wish to spend a couple of years learning SEO on your own. Most businesses don’t have the time. Although it is an option, keep in mind that time is running and by the time you get the answers, search engines might have changed the questions. Keep in mind that SEO will remain a MYTH for those who hire the wrong SEO Firms.
